Mitchell Herbert Rommel

Mitchell Herbert Rommel, 63, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Mitch lived life on his own terms. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, golf, and just living life day by day. Mitch loved his family. He was a good brother to his siblings, who have many great memories of younger days spent together. Mitch will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He was born on December 22, 1959, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Raymond and Catherine (Herbert) Rommel. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Rommel; and sisters, Kathy Clark and Carolyn Pruitt.

Mitch is survived by his children, Gracie, Jack, and Courtland; sister, Mickie (Steve) Cox; brother, Mark (Teresa) Rommel; sister, Rose (Bill) Delehanty; sister, Marilyn (Thomas) McGarvey; brother, Joe (Renee) Rommel; brother, Jim (Carol) Rommel; lifelong friend, Mark Bivens; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and many other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Memorial Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

The family requests that contributions in Mitch's memory be made to the American Heart Association (240 Whittington Parkway, Hurstbourne, KY 40222).
