Mitchell Raymond Lozier, 65, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2023. Mitch was a perfectionist in all aspects of his life. Whether he was at work or at home, he always took pride in everything he did, and it showed. From his meticulously maintained yard to his insistence on punctuality, he earned his nickname "The General." In addition to being extremely organized, Mitch was also an IU fan and history buff, especially concerning the Civil War. He was a very generous man, who was always helping others. Mitch served his country honorably for over 20 years and is a veteran of both the Navy and Army National Guard.
He was born on February 6, 1958, in Clarksville, Indiana, to Cecil and Nancy (Poole) Lozier. He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Ray Lozier; and his brother, Mark Lozier.
Mitch is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Lozier; son, Eric Ray (Jill) Lozier; daughter, Michelle Marie (Cody) Ginkins; daughter, Carrie G. (Ben) Schott; seven grandchildren, Madison, Anderson, Hudson, Easton, Stella, Brooks, and Emalyn; mother, Nancy Marie Lozier; brothers, Michael (Carla) Lozier and Matthew Lozier; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023, and from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The family requests that contributions in Mitch's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105) or another cancer research organization.
