Misty Dawn Nelson

Misty Dawn Nelson, 40, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Misty was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, and sister. She was loving, kind, and had a wonderful spirit. Misty put everyone's needs above her own and would help anyone that needed it. She loved to travel, especially to the beach. Misty had a great desire to be accepted by her family. She was very optimistic and found the silver lining in every situation. Misty will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on June 9, 1982 in Fort Knox, Kentucky to Trina (Gividen) Jones. She is preceded in death by her uncle, Gary Gividen.

Misty is survived by her loving family, mother, Trina Patty; dad, Daniel Patty; sons, Tavian Nelson, Kayden Nelson, Brenyn Nelson, Ephraim Nelson, Xavier Nelson; brothers, Ronald (Erin) Jones, Jr., Garren Patty, Devin (Kylie) Patty; sisters, Jackie (Luke) Hamlin, Tamara Patty, Saylor Patty; grandmother, Rita Embry; aunt, Laranda (Danny) Rice; uncles, Mark Gividen, Darren (Mary Catherine) Patty, Ernie (Wendy) Jones; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

The family requests that contributions in Misty's honor be made to the Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
