Millard L. Knight, 83, of New Albany, Indiana, formerly of English, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at his home. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired from Celenase Coatings in Louisville, Kentucky.
Millard was born on November 27, 1928 in Grantsburg, Indiana to the late Floyd and Leora (Hammond) Knight. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Hazel McDonald and brothers, Arthur, Robert, Roman, and Clifford Knight.
He is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Catherine L. (Conklin) Knight; daughters, Rhonda Knight of Louisville, Rita Chism of Pekin; sons, Michael Knight of Pekin, Stephen Knight of Scottsburg; grandchildren, Jason, Cody, Brandy, Mackenzie, Courtney, Kristen; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Millard's Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday from 9 to 11 AM. His Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Mathers Chapel Cemetery in English, Indiana.
Contributions in Millard's memory may be made to Hosparus – the Community Hospice of Southern Indiana (624 E. Market Street, New Albany).
