Mildred Rita Murphy

Mildred R. Murphy, age 87 of Owensboro, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister, and best friends to Mary Jo and Don Carlisle. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat; daughter, Sandra "Jude" Murphy-Hebel; and granddaughter, Candace Lynn Harvey.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by her loving children, Lou "Arky" Murphy (Cheryl), Albert "Beets" Murphy (Connie), Geraldine "Jerry" Jones (Dan), Robert "Bobby" Murphy (Jill) and Sharon "Shay" Murphy; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Charlene Thomas (Carl) and Gladys Yankey; brother, Gene Robbins; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral ceremony will be 11am Friday, November 1, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with burial to follow in Penn Run Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8pm Thursday and after 9:30 am Friday until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
