Mildred Orrick

Irene Orrick, wife of Jim Orrick, departed this life May 9, 2012 at her home in Pewee Valley, KY.

She was born in Elliott County, Kentucky October 7, 1936, the daughter of Elmer and Laura Conn Skeens. She attended Lexington Baptist College and Marshall University. She was a member of Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian, wife, and mother. After rearing her children, she taught English literature and composition at both Marshall University and the Ironton branch of Ohio University. She was the personification of Proverbs 31:10-31.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Orrick and three children, Cindy Orrick Reid of West Point, MS; Jim Scott Orrick, LaGrange, KY; and Ann Wohlfarth, Williamsburg, KY, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
At her request, private graveside services will be conducted by the family at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Morehead, KY on May 12th at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts be sent to Baptist Faith Missions, P. O. Box 471280, Lake Monroe, FL 32747-1280 or to Storms Creek Baptist Church Mission Fund, 41 Township Rd. 276 South, South Point, OH, or to Hosparus Hospice Organization, 3532 Ephraim McDowell Dr., Louisville, KY 40205.
