Mildred Josephine Niehoff

Mildred Josephine (Andres) Niehoff, 90, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022. Mildred loved flowers and had a passion for gardening and embroidery. She was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church and VFW Hobart Beach Post 1693. Mildred loved to visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows and her favorite vacation destination of Mackinac Island. She really enjoyed making specialty cakes for the all the children she knew. Mildred will be remembered for her heart for others and by the many children she cared for over the years.

She was born on February 26, 1932, in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, to the late Peter and Rosa (Meyer) Andres. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Niehoff, Sr.; sisters, Leona Lawson and Alberta Elizabeth Bertrand; and brother, Norbert Andres.

Mildred is survived by her children, Janice Schneider, Diana (Barry) Traub, and Leo (Alice) Niehoff, Jr.; siblings, Elmer Andres, Rita (Vern) Nolot, Ann Andres, Judith Bowe, and Melford Andres; grandchildren, Brian (Lauren) Niehoff, Eric (LaNona) Traub, Kimberly (Josh) Kahl, Larissa (Michael) Braun, Nathan (Jennifer) Schneider, Arika Davis, and Cole Davis; and great-grandchildren, Julianne, Olivia, Madalynn, Emma, Addy, Colin, Liam, Alyza, Roslyn, Bryson, Nolan, Ainsley, and Alice Kate.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery.
