Mildred Lenora (Washington) McNeary, 86, of New Albany passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at her home.
She was born on January 18, 1926, to the late Willard Washington & Aline (Mitchell) Tompkins. After becoming a register nurse, Mildred worked at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York. She also worked as a supervisor at St. Edwards Hospital in New Albany. Mildred was a faithful & lifetime member of Jones Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church.
She is survived by her sons, Phillip McNeary, Jr. (Linda), Virgil Seay (Sandra), & Floyd Cummings; grandchildren, Sian, David, Phillecia (Laron), Rodney Jr.(Shahanna), Roderick(Amelia), Erina, Angel, Rodnesha, Colleen(Claude), Darin, Gregory, Alicia, Felicia, & Lori; and many great grandchildren & other relatives. Along with her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Lawrence McNeary Sr.; son, Rodney C. McNeary Sr.; & grandson, Anthoni Vaughn.
Visitation will be 12 to 2 PM on Friday, October 19, 2012 at Jones Memorial AME Zion Church (258 Ealy Street, New Albany) with a Memorial Service immediately following at 2 PM.
