Michele Bryant Walters Barnett, 69, of Prospect, Kentucky, transitioned from this life on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
She was born on December 13, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Arthur and NoraLee (Bryant) Walters. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Arthurine "Artye" Walters DuLaney (Darryl), and niece, Lisa Banks.
Michele was a woman of great faith, great intelligence, and great compassion. She spent her life seeking knowledge, spreading love, and speaking out for justice. Her life was constantly punctuated by pursuits of passion, having traveled through the worlds of Corporate America, sports, the arts, academia, and social justice. She loved God, her Husband, her boys, her family, her friends, her dog Cooper, her Cardinals, her AKA, and her books. She is now and will forever be the most serious matter of them all.
Michele is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, William "Randy" Randolph, sons, Bryan Randolph, Brent Meredith, Godmother Belma Lunderman McClaskey, grandchildren, Jalen, JoiElle, Mahogany, brother, Reginald Walters (Barbara), sister-in-laws, Ann Gearing, Brenda Daughtery (Robert), Blanche Barnett, nieces and nephews, Tommy Lawson (Jackie), Johnny Lawson (Allison), Joe Banks, Jackie Barnett, Melissa Hood, James Laws, Phillip Barnett, Ebony Barnett, Cosetta Flaherty (Conor), Shauna-Nicole Walters, Krista Bullard and Ashley Bridges (Deven), great-niece, Kaelyn Bullard and a host of family, friends and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorors.
Michele's Home Going Celebration will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, beginning with Open Reflection at 11AM, a Sorority Remembrance at 11:30AM, and the Homegoing Celebration at Noon; located at Burnett Avenue Baptist Church (6800 South Hurstbourne Pkwy, Louisville, KY 40291).
