Michael Thomas Sutherland

Michael Thomas Sutherland, 30, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. Michael was very patriotic and loved America. He enjoyed photography and the music of Dolly Parton. He also loved animals and cared deeply for his pugs, Bumper, Peanut, Esteban, and Charlie; and his Akita, Mishu. Michael was a spiritual person who loved Christian music and pondering the meaning of life.

He was born on January 12, 1993, in New Albany, Indiana, to James and Cynthia (Keilman) Sutherland.

Michael is survived by his loving husband, Timmy Russell; mother, Cynthia (Louis) Lopez; father, James (Denise) Sutherland; brothers, Brad (Lisa) Sutherland, Joseph Sutherland, and Eric Sutherland; stepbrothers, Zach Goodwin, Mike Lopez, and Mark Lopez; stepsister, Marie Goodwin; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Russell; father-in-law Timothy (Brenda) Russell, Sr.; nephew, Bryton Sutherland; and godson, Patrick Jegier.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. A Reception will follow at First Baptist Church (8030 Baptist Church Road SE, Elizabeth, Indiana).
