Michael Anthony Sanders

Michael Anthony Sanders, 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023. Michael was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He loved being a Papaw, Pappy, Pop-Pop, and Papa more than anything. Michael had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making everyone laugh. If he didn't pick on you, he didn't like you. Michael was a retired truck driver and every child and grandchild has special memories of being on the road with him. He was caring and always willing to lend a hand when needed. He never met a stranger. Michael will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on August 23, 1952 in Louisville, Kentucky to Thomas and Maggie (Giles) Sanders. He is preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Lucas,; father, Thomas Sanders; and sisters, Sharon Genton and Carol Fulton.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sandi Sanders; son, Michael Sanders; daughters, Kathy (Hani) Capps, Elizabeth (Brett) Shannon, Lindsey Casey; grandchildren, Cody West, Hassan Alkannas, Haidar Alkannas, Brandon Sanders, Christopher Sanders, Hannah Sanders, Destiny Kendall, Jalyn Lucas, James Lucas, III, JoDee Lucas; great-grandchildren, Paislynn Tucker, Cheyenne Taylor, Landon Sanders, Carter West, Isabella Sanders, Gabriel Sanders, Jackson Sanders; sisters, Lynn Schultz, Pam Sanders, Michelle Ware; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A Celebration of life will be at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
