Michael Lee Rice

Michael Lee Rice, 70, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023. He was a United States Navy veteran and had a career as a welder for Bert R. Huncilman & Sons.

He was born on November 4, 1952, in New Albany, Indiana, to Louis and Alma (Fenwick) Rice. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Rice and Helen Atkins; brother-in-law, Dean Atkins; and nephews, Joey and Charlie.

Mike is survived by his siblings, Fred Rice (Rita), Connie Becht (Micky), Frank Rice (Bev), Patty Anderson (Neil), Darlene Sarles, Steve Rice, and Billy Rice (Lea Ann); 29 nieces and nephews; 52 great-nieces and -nephews; and 17 great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 9:00 a.m. His funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with burial and military honors to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

Contributions in Mike's memory may be made to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
