Michael Murrell

Michael Ray "Turtle" Murrell, 57, of New Albany, Indiana and formerly of North Vernon, Indiana, and St. Augustine, Florida passed away on June 20, 2014. Turtle was a member of Eastside Christian Church and a former member of Lords Chapel in North Vernon. Turtle also enjoyed; leather crafting, drawing lighthouses, geocaching, fishing, gardening, inviting new friends to meet Christ, and traveling to St. Augustine.

Turtle was born on November 23, 1956 in Seymour, Indiana to Lena Mae (Gibson) and the late Ralph Murrell. He is also preceded in death by his first wife; Kathie Murrell.

He is survived by his wife Sheila Lynn (Griffith) Murrell; daughter, Chastidy Harvey (John); sisters, Carolyn King, Pam Israel; brothers, Billy Wayne, Dennis "Dink", and James Murrell; grandchildren; Caleb and Kaelyn Harvey; 11 nieces and nephews; and 9 great nieces and nephews; and his two four legged babies; Patrick and Gracie.

Visitation will be from 2 PM to 8 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 and 9 AM to 11 AM Wednesday at Newcomer (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be at 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
