Michael Ernest Metzger

Michael Ernest Metzger, 64, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023. He was a graduate of Providence High School, where he played baseball and football. Mike enjoyed horse racing and was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers, New York Mets and Jets. He was also fond of his cats, Rudy, Bootsy and Rolo.

He was born on September 18, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky to Edith (Radcliffe) Nichols and the late Otto Metzger. In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his wife, Vicki (Harrison) Metzger; son, Joshua Metzger (Regan); step-daughters, Penni Sutton (Shawn), Chasity Darnell (Leon); siblings, Karen Compretta, Steve Scalf (Katie); grandchildren, Olivia, Brad, Haley, Nathan, Sydney; and great-grandsons, Braydon and Viktor.

Mike's wish was to be cremated and a reception of family and friends will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany.
