Michael J. Mcmickin

Michael McMickin, 52, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023. He was a proud member of Newburg Apostolic Church in Louisville, Kentucky and the Regulators Social Club. You could always catch Michael watching I.U. Basketball, NBA Sports, NFL sports however, the L.A. Lakers and San Fransico 49ers were his favorite teams. Michael was known for his smile and his love for his dog Yoshia. He would come home from dialysis take his nap and made sure Yoshia was taken on his daily walk. Michael enjoyed cooking, salmon and salads, and most importantly spending time with family and his friends. Michael was the life of the party.

He was born on February 20, 1971 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Clarence and Charleen (McPheeters) Hunter. While Michael was in high school he participated numerous sports. He worked at Vos Clark for 12 years, Reliance Steel and Aluminum Company for 7 years, and Hitachi for 5 years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister, Serita Hunter.

Michael is survived by his loving daughter, Mykeshia McMickin; grandchildren, Aidyn, Rodney and Miyah; sister, Car Lee (Damon) Blissett; brother, Robert (Wanda) McMickin; and his dog, Yoshia; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Newburg Apostolic Church, (4817 E. Indian Trail, Louisville, Kentucky 40218). His Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Newburg Apostolic Church with burial to follow at West Haven Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
