Michael "Mike" Glenn Kemper, 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Mike was a loving and devoted husband, father, and Pepaw. He was a retired firefighter with more than 25 years of service at the Louisville Fire Department. Mike was a skilled mechanic and loved to tinker. His friends asked for his mechanical advice and trusted his work. He enjoyed drag racing and building hotrods with his son. Mike will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on March 27, 1950 in Louisville, Kentucky to Herbert and Mary (Davis) Kemper. He is preceded in death by his father, Herbert Kemper; mother, Mary Zelma Kemper; son, Michael T. Kemper.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rose Kemper; daughters, Maria Kemper; Julie (Rick) Kemper; granddaughter, Ashley (Willie Murphy) Bourland; grandson, Brett Bourland; great-granddaughter, Mila Murphy; as well as a host of numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Bethany Memorial Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
