**Obituary for Michael Dean Mattingly**

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Michael Dean Mattingly, aged 67, of Fairdale, Kentucky, who departed this life on September 27, 2024.

Mike was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life; whether cheering for his favorite football team or spending precious moments with his beloved family, Mike's vibrant spirit enriched the lives of those around him. His heart was particularly open to serving others, and he actively engaged in street ministries. A true animal lover, he dedicated a significant portion of his time to caring for his cherished fur babies. Above all, there was no doubt about Mike’s deep love for the Lord, a faith that radiated through his actions and interactions.

Born on December 13, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, Mike was a treasured son of Robert and Norma (Houk) Mattingly. He is now reunited in eternal peace with his beloved wife, Saundra Mattingly; his daughter, Lynn Mattingly; and his brothers, Gary and Robert Mattingly, Jr.

Mike's legacy is carried on by his devoted sons, Christopher (Amy) Mattingly and Nicholas (Emily) Mattingly; his cherished sisters, Karen (Dan) Stacy, Brenda (Robert) Harrod, Kathy Reesor, and Michelle (Steve) Duvall; his brothers, Kevin Mattingly and Dana Mattingly; as well as his adored granddaughters, Isabella, Sophia, Briella, and Olivia. He leaves behind his beloved fur babies, Maddie and Toby, along with countless nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held on November 2, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the First Church of Nazarene in the gym, located at 3503 Blanton Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40214.

In honor of Mike's giving spirit, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to Isaiah House, located at 10803 Deering Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.
