Michael Edward "Mike" Connelly, 62, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 at his home in New Albany, Indiana.
Mike was born on September 3, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Edward Anthony & Mary (Dugan) Connelly. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Connelly; children, Edward Michael Connelly (Angela), Eric LaFever, & Kevin LaFever ; siblings, Martha Barger, Norma Warrern (Don), Alice Stewart (Don), & Robert J. Connelly (Louann); and 3 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Aiden & Evan.
Visitation will be from 12 PM to 8 PM on Monday, December 5, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will be at 12 PM on Tuesday, December 6, at the funeral home with full military honors to follow. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mike's memory may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (2600 Virginia Avenue NW, Ste 104, Washington D.C. 20037) or Hospice of Southern Indiana (624 E Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
