Michael Dewayne Bilbro, 64, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017. He was born on June 23, 1952 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to the late James and Mary (Manis) Bilbro. Mike was also preceded in death by his brothers, Terry, Richard, Gary, and Keith Bilbro.
Mike was passionate about many things but adored nothing more than his beautiful wife, children, and grandchildren. He married the love of his life in 1971 and was the epitome of a loyal and devoted husband. A selfless provider, he spent his career at SudChemie, from where he retired in 2004. In retirement, he loved watching movies often finding himself engrossed in the newest big budget action movie. He was a Disney fanatic and many of his finest memories were made on his families many trips to Walt Disney World. He loved watching sports and shared his son's fervor for Purdue football and Penguins Hockey. He celebrated every accomplishment his grandchildren ever had and could often be found on the sidelines cheering their many activities. He was an amazing man and he will be greatly missed.
Mike is survived by his wife of 46 years, Janis (Grimes) Bilbro; children, Laura Rakaska (Jason), Aaron Bilbro (Leslie); grandchildren, Ryan, Reagan, Ethan, Austin, Abigail; sister, Denise Beemer (Steve); and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12 PM to 7 PM on Monday, May 29, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place at 10 AM on Tuesday in the chapel at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
