Michael Basham

Michael "Head Down" Basham, 60, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022. Michael was a hard worker and was willing to help anyone in need. He was a humble man and never begged for what he needed. Michael could often be seen at several local businesses or riding his bike around the Dixie Highway area. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

He was born on July 22, 1961 in Louisville, Kentucky to Carl and Gloria (Francis) Basham. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Basham; and his mother, Gloria Basham.

Michael is survived by his loving community, especially his friends at Gorilla Bob's Grub Shack, BJ's Sports Pub, Lindsay's Kitchen, Captain D's, Derby City Pizza (PRP), Five Star, Dairy Queen (Valley Station), Rally's, Kroger on Terry Road, Southend Street Angels, Friends Without Addresses, and his church family, as well as a host of extended family and friends that will cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 1, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions-Southwest Louisville Chapel. His Funeral Service will be at 6:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.

Michael will be laid to rest privately at a later date in Beth Haven Cemetery on Stonestreet Road in Louisville, Kentucky.
