Michael H. Barnes, 77, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
Michael was a United States Marine Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a retired police officer from the Louisville City Police and from the state of Kentucky, where he was an Emergency Training Officer. Michael was an avid golfer and loved outdoor adventures. He was a natural servant and protector. Michael was a wonderful husband, dad, and Poppa.
Michael was born on December 13, 1944 in Urbana, Illinois to the late Zane and Elizabeth (Hunter) Barnes.
Michael is survived by loving wife of 45 years, Jeanne Tate Barnes; daughter, Melissa Barnes Oatley (Matthew); son, Michael Zachary Zane Barnes (Ameillia); grandchildren, Katelyn, Madelyn, Wynston, Rowyn, Lynden, and another bundle of joy on the way.
A celebration of life memorial will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022, details will be shared amongst friends and family.
