Melvin George Williams, 57, of Louisville, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on, Tuesday, May 21, 2013.
Melvin was born on June 4, 1955 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Ruth (Rhodes) Williams and the late Rev. Cleveland Roosevelt Williams, Sr. He was a Deacon & long time member of Kingdom Land Baptist Church in Louisville. Melvin was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Laborers International Union #576.
He is survived by 4 sons, Melvin G. Williams Jr., Cleveland D. Williams, Drashawn L. Redd, & Julian Williams; 2 special daughters, Deidra & Micky Gordon; companion, Angelica Fowler; 4 sisters, Ella L. Williams, Supervisor Carolyn A. Anderson (George), Carrie J. Williams, Rev. Maureen T. McGill (James); 3 brothers, Robert L. Williams Sr. (Dianna), Michael A. Williams, Bobby Joe Lassiter; 3 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 PM Friday, May 24, 2013 at Brighter Day Anderson Temple Church of God in Christ (1755 E. 8th Street, Jeffersonville, IN). His Home Going will be celebrated on Saturday at 1 PM at the church with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
Contributions in Melvin's memory may be made to the Kingdom Land Baptist Church (1822 S. 11th Street, Louisville, KY).
