Melvin Lee Arrowood, Sr.

Mr. Melvin Lee Arrowood, Sr., age 87 passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at the VA Medical Center in Louisville. Originally of North Carolina, he was a long-time resident of Hopkinsville, KY. He was a proud WWII Veteran serving in the Army and Army Air Corp in the European Theatre with the 1st Armored Division and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Virginia Johnson Arrowood and his son Melvin Lee Arrowood, Jr. "Don".

He is survived by his sons, Rick and Michael Arrowood and Michael's wife Jean; his daughter-in-laws, Vickie and Wanda Arrowood; 5 grandchildren, Raleigh and Clayton Arrowood, Meghan Roden, Lindsey and Bryan Arrowood, Melvin Lee Arrowood, III, Christopher Arrowood.

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm CDT Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Riverside Cemetery in Hopkinsville, KY. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky is entrusted with arrangements.
