Melvin Hunter

Minister Melvin Hunter, age 51 of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Inpatient Unit at Norton Hosparus. A native of Louisville, he was an ordained minister, was a painter by trade and a member of the Soul Seekers Christian Ministry. He was preceded in death by his father, George Hunter and a brother, Phillip.

Mr. Hunter is survived by his wife, Senethia Hunter; his daughter, April Starks (Gary) and Geovonni Trotter; his sons, Steven Hunter and Melvin Andrew Hunter, Eddie Trotter and Cristopher Daughterty; his mother, evangelist Mrs. Cora Reed Hunter; brothers and sisters, Harold Hunter (Mattie), Jerry Hunter (Mattie R.), Jesse Hunter (Shontil), Julia McMillen (Thomas), George Hunter (Juvy), Phyllis Pye, Leonard Hunter (Amy) and Gardara Goodloe. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
The funeral ceremony for Mr. Hunter will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009 from Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 635 S. 22nd Street, downtown Louisville. Visitation will be Saturday 11 a.m. until time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
