Melvin G. "Bubber" Hazel Jr., 83, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on August 5, 2013. He retired from River City Distributors. He was a proud Army veteran who served in the Korean War.
Melvin was born on January 9, 1930 in Louisville, KY to the late Melvin Hazel and Lillian Hazel (Brice). He was also preceded in death by his sister, Francis Mansfield.
Melvin is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Hazel; daughters, Paula Dennis (Jerry), Kim Sutherland (Ray), and Melva Bowman (Eddie); sons, Gary Hazel (Pam) and Kevin Hazel (Kim); brother, Thomas Hazel; sister, Mona Ray; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). His Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation.
