Melvin Berryman

Melvin L. Berryman, 73, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on August 5, 2014. A die-hard UofK fan, Melvin retired from the Clarksville Community School Corporation and gave 40 years of service. He was a member of Southeast Christian Church – Jeffersonville Campus and the SAE Fraternity.

Melvin was born on August 8, 1940 in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, to the late Stanley R. and Verna Mae (Highley) Berryman. He is also preceded in death by his stepson, Bill Messer.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Phyllis A. (Wright) Berryman; son, Jim Berryman (Sharion), stepdaughter, Robbin King (Lowell); sister, Jan Coleman; brothers, Danny and Greg Berryman; granddaughter, Kristian Berryman; great-granddaughter, Kapri Ann Berryman; and stepgrandson, Will Messer.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 9 AM to 12 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Service will take place on Friday at 12 PM in the chapel at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Machpelah Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Kentucky.
