Melissa Lynn (Wyzard) Freiberger

Melissa Lynn (Wyzard) Freiberger, 57, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was an active member and formerly had run the Coffee House at Northside Christian Church. Melissa was the current office manager for Ernstberger Orthodontics. She had many talents, that included creative cooking, crafts, and interior and floral design. Melissa also enjoyed watching movies, but her greatest asset and what gave her the most joy was caring for others.

She was born on December 19, 1964, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Richard and Patricia (Davis) Wyzard. In addition to her parents, Melissa is survived by her husband of 25 years, Paul Freiberger III; children, Max Freiberger (Addy Zimpleman) and Gracie Freiberger (fiancé, Clay Lodwick); brothers, Gregory and Jason Wyzard (Angela Wilcox); aunts and uncles, Becky Eddins (Frank), Mindy Phillips, Debbie Heatherly (Larry), and Charlie Wyzard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Geneva "Genky" Phillips; uncle, John Wyzard; and aunt, Kay Wyzard.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Thursday after 10:00 a.m. at Northside Christian Church West Auditorium (4407 Charlestown Road, New Albany). Her funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church, with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Knobs Cemetery.
