Melinda Jolene Parrott

Melinda "Jo" Jolene Parrott, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on July 8, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born to Marlin & Louise Vaughn in Kentucky on December 30, 1937, and was raised alongside one sibling.

She went on to graduate from Ahrens High School. Through mutual friends, she met the love of her life, Bill Parrott, and were married on July 3, 1958. Together they raised one daughter.

Melinda loved shopping, traveling, and cooking. She frequented Kohl's, enjoyed cruises with her husband, and her family loved when she brought her Au Gratin potatoes to gatherings. She loved spending time with her family and spent 64 beautiful years with Bill.

Melinda is preceded by her parents; her sister, Martha (Sonny) Smith; her aunt, Julie. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Bill; her daughter, Denise Parrott; her grandson, Ryan Garvey; her aunt, Joy Dixon; her special sister-in-law, Janet (Bob) Parrott; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will miss her very much.

The family would like to say a special thank you to Bob & Janet Parrott for their dedication and devotion to Melinda and her health. We cannot thank you enough for your support during this time.

Visitation will be on July 13, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243) from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, with an additional visiting hour on July 14, 2022 from 10:00am – 11:00am, with service to follow beginning at 11:00am. Burial will take place at Grove Hill Cemetery (458 Mt Eden Rd, Shelbyville, KY 40065).
