Maxine Laverne Flournoy, 66, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on March 5, 2016. She was retired and was a member of Sycamore Chapel United Methodist Church.
Maxine was born on June 14, 1949 in Harrodsburg, Kentucky to the late Sam and Juanita (Gray) Banks. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James William Flournoy, Sr., sister Mary Patton, and brother David Banks.
Maxine is survived by her daughters; Lisa A Flournoy, Anna Flournoy, Margie Rutledge, Brenda Flournoy, Jackie Jeffrey, and Florence Byrd, son, James W. Flournoy, Jr., grandchildren; Dalila Barker, Aubrey Flournoy, Asha Flournoy, Jamila Maxine Flournoy, Mohammad Flournoy, Sherry Flournoy, Sean Flournoy, Ollie Rutledge, Orlando Rutledge, Brandy Flournoy, Sierra Flournoy, Charles Flournoy, Sidney Flournoy, Kenya Tucker, Raymond Flournoy, Tasha Byrd, Glennisha Carr, Madeline Flournoy, Donber Byrd; and great grandchildren: Aton Ausar Imhotep El Matthews, Dewayne Flournoy, Deonbia Flournoy, Maya Flournoy, Grayson Flournoy, Ariana Flournoy, Christian Tucker, Rashawn Tucker, Trevon Tucker, Koran Flournoy, and Crendell Flournoy. She is also survived by two sisters, Sue Gooch, Marie Woodfork and brother Sam Banks, Jr and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral ceremony at 11:30 am on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville 40243) with burial to follow at Pewee Valley Cemetery East.
