Maxie (Eldridge) Mullins

Maxie (Eldridge) Mullins, 98, a good and faithful Christian woman, of Lanesville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. She loved her family deeply and adored each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maxie was kind hearted, and the door to her home was always open to guests. She was a talented quilter and enjoyed working out in her garden, tending to her flowers.

She was born on May 14, 1923, in Tolson, Kentucky, to Esquire and Susan (Caudill) Eldridge. In addition to her parents, Maxie was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Mullins; brothers, Paul, George, and John Eldridge, and James and Fess Combs; sisters, Mary Adams, Kathleen Cornett, Geneva Gentry, Mildred Collins, Alicey Caudill, Zeda Eddy, and Olive Clapp; and grandson, Ryan Shane.

Maxie is survived by her daughters, Peggy Brock and Sandra Richardson (Larry); grandchildren, Kathy Brann (Van), Donna Hale (Lewis), Kelly Turpin (Brad), Todd Richardson (Jenn), Jennifer McAnalley, and April Hacker (J.D.); great-grandchildren, Robyn (Justin), Trenton, Kathryn (Cecil), Aaron (Alisha), Nick, Emma, Jasper, Leah, Peyton Jane, Nolan, and Savannah; great-great-grandchildren, Lillie, Laurel, Ava Jade, Elijah, Alayah, Oaklynn, and Lillian Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in New Washington, Indiana.
