Maurice Seger, age 84 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at his home after an unexpected and brief battle with cancer.
Maurice was born March 25, 1928 in Jasper, IN to the late Lidwina and August Seger. Maurice was a proud U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the VFW. He was an active member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Maurice was an avid gardener, enjoyed woodworking, golf, and playing cards with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
In addition to his parents, Maurice was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Seger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ruth Anne Seger (Clark); children, Janice Bohannon (Bill), Julie Delozier (Pete), Gary Seger (Sherrill), Joyce Kirkpatrick; sisters, Beatrice Seger and Sylvia Dugan; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Howie), Sean, John, Kevin (Renee), Beth (Christy), Katie (Peyton), Dane, Corey, Greg, Will, Reid, Shelby, Aaron, and Madison; and great-grandchildren, Kailey, Ryan, Braxton, and Emmeline; as well as many extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. Mass of Christian burial will be 10am Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, KY 40222.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hosparus of Louisville or St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
