Maurice H. Banet, 77, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014. He worked at Hoosier Panel for 32 years and retired as the plant manager from George Pfau's Sons Company. Maurice was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church where he had been active in the Men's Club.
He was born on October 17, 1937 in Floyds Knobs to the late Wilford and Mary (Renn) Banet. Maurice was also preceded in death by his brothers, Wilfred "Tommy," Clarence "Joe," Benny "Dutch" Banet, and sister, Martha Moore.
Maurice is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn (Bezy) Banet; children, Timothy Banet (Debbie), Deborah Vanderplow, Karen Banet; siblings, Aileen Banet, Norma Andres (Irvin), LeMerle Banet (Faye), Larry Banet (Donna); grandchildren, Lucas Feiock (Audrey), Alyssa and April Vanderplow; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 8 PM on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A rosary will be prayed at 2 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday in the chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
