With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Matthew Joseph Smith. Born to Rita on February 21st, 1990, Matt was a cherished father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend, who left us far too soon at the age of 34. He passed away on June 10th, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories.
His quick wit and sense of humor could brighten even the darkest of days, leaving all who knew him with a smile on their faces. He had a passion for fishing, spending time on the water, and showing off his latest catch!
As an avid poker player (like the rest of the Millers), Matt was always ready for a friendly competition with friends and family. His luck wasn't limited to the card table; he often tried his hand at scratch-offs, and collecting “Pookiemon” cards.
Above all else, Matt treasured his time with his family. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his two beautiful daughters, Addison and Aubree grow older, showering them with love and laughter every step of the way. Whether it was a day on the golf course or a quiet evening at home, he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones.
Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Lilly Miller, closest cousin Robert (Robo) Wittig, and other loved ones. He is survived by his daughters, Addison and Aubree, mother, Rita, siblings Amanda and Tommy, niece Brooklyn, nephews Simon, Cameron, Peyton, Parker and an abundance of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Though he may no longer walk beside us, Matt’s spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. May his laughter echo in our memories, his love guide us through difficult times, and his kindness inspire us to live life to the fullest.
