Matthew Gobel Lawson

Matthew Gobel Lawson, 51, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on October 25, 2024. Matthew had a contagious personality and put a smile on everyone's face no matter the circumstances he faced. He was an avid University of Louisville Cardinals fan. In his spare time, Matthew enjoyed tinkering with electronics and building bicycles for children. He was very creative and had a talent for drawing and photo editing. Matthew will be remembered for living life to the fullest and enjoying every moment. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. 

He was born on January 31, 1973 to the late Benny and Ireda Lawson. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother-in-law, Tony Tucker.

Matthew is survived by his loving family, children, Sydney Mee, Miranda Zetko, Cameron Lyle, and Matthew Summers; siblings, Mark (Cindy) Lawson, Tracy (Richard) DeVore, Michael (Rhonda) Lawson, Kelly Tucker, and Wendy (Bill) Woodsmall; as well as a host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with entombment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.

The family requests that donations in Matthew's honor be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
