Matthew Wayne Kannapel

Matthew Wayne "Matt" Kannapel, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. He was 37 years old. Matt was born November 22, 1980, to Kathleen (Rudy) Mayfield and Terry Kannapel. He was a 1999 graduate of New Albany High School. Matt enjoyed sports and, especially, baseball. He had many friends, and he truly loved his family and many cousins.

Along with his parents and stepfather Larry Mayfield, he is survived by his sister, Jessica Rouse (Brandon); nephews, Blaine and Camden; grandmother, Pearl Kannapel; and many cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.

Visitation will held be from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
