Marylyn Welch Phelps, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. She was born on May 23, 1939 to the late Herschel and Maimie Welch. She was a strong, caring, Christian mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was the biggest fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats. She was a member of Southeast Christian Church. She was very proud of her two sons and her daughter and daughter-in-law, and one of her biggest dreams that came true was seeing her two sons serve communion together. Marylyn was greatest mother to all. She was a very hard worker and had a great passion for horses. She is preceded in death by her husband; Charlie Phelps.
Survivors include her two sons; Jeff Coleman (Linda), Jimmy Coleman, a daughter,Betty Lou Schwartz (Bobby), sister; Dorothy Hatfield, two brothers; Jim Welch (Betty), Charlie Welch (Diane), grandchildren; Michael Chad Coleman, Kelli Lynn Coleman, Charlie Raeuchle (Lori), Theresa Benton (Levi), Ralph Finley, twelve great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243, and from 9:00 am until the time of the service on Monday August 11, 2014 at Southeast Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11:00 am at Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway, Louisville, 40243.
