Mary F. Yelton

Mary. Yelton, 81, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose kindness touched the lives of many. Mary found joy in simple pleasures, from playing BINGO and nurturing her beloved flowers. Her selflessness was a hallmark of her character, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished each moment spent with them.

Born on August 2, 1943, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Allen and Goldie (Tussey) Pitts. Mary is preceded in death by her father, Allen Pitts; her mother, Goldie Mae Pitts; her husband, Leonard Gordon Yelton, Jr.; her son, Alan Lee Yelton; and five siblings.

Mary leaves behind a loving family, including her children Ronald O. (Deann) Yelton, Loretta M. (Eric Jackson) Miller, and Leonard G. (Tracy) Yelton, III; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters; three brothers; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel located at 10304 Dixie Hwy. A funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM at the same location.

In honor of Mary’s legacy, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
