Mary (Cramblett) Sternberg, 84, joined the Lord on March 29, 2025. She was greeted at the pearly gates by her beloved husband of 53 years, Harvey Paul Jr. who no doubt was waiting with a deck of cards in hand ready for a game of Texas Hold ‘Em.
Mary was the embodiment of the quote, “To know her is to love her.” She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all. A fierce woman with a sharp mind, a heart of gold, and a side of sass, she spent her life sewing for her loved ones, often alongside her group of friends, who are lovingly known as the Bag Ladies. Mary relentlessly advocated for women's rights, was a diehard fan for her Louisville Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed a good glass of wine, and loved feeding the whole family with traditional Lebanese meals.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Paul Jr., her sister, Patricia Sloan, and her fur babies Sasha and Molly. She is survived by her five children, Harvey Paul Sternberg III, Stephen Sternberg (Vanita), Patricia Ratterman (Steve), Mary Melissa Harrell (Jason), and Elizabeth VanCleave-Baker, her dog Dallas, and an army of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
We are respecting Mary’s wishes by having no formal service. Mary's celebration of life will take place at St. Ignatius Catholic Church Cafeteria (1818 Rangeland Rd Louisville, KY 40219) on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Kentucky Humane Society in Mary’s name.
