Mary Ruth Smith

Mary Ruth Mobley Smith, age 93 of Louisville, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2014. She was the owner of Smith Landfill Company in Bullitt County and was also employed for 45 years as a supervisor with BellSouth. She was a devoted Jehovah Witness. She was preceded in death by her husband Harlan Smith; and her parents, Marion Noel and Melvina Katherine Thornton Mobley; sister, Kathleen Owen.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving nephew, Joseph Raymond, Sr. (Debbie); great-nephews, Joseph Raymond, Jr. (Beth), David and Matthew Raymond; great-niece, Michelle Willan (Jason); great-great nieces and nephew Noelle, Tyler, Emma and Leah; sister, Ina Faye Raymond; brother, Marion Mobley; nieces, Donna (Darrell), Bonnie, Debbie and Pam; nephews, Monty (Debbie), Merle (Karen), Ralph (Donna) and Mark; 9 great-nephews and nieces; 8 great-great nephews and nieces; and her Jehovah family and friends.

Funeral ceremony will be 7pm Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with visitation there from 3pm until time of service. Graveside services will be 10am Friday at Evergreen Cemetery.
