Mary Ruth (Hooe) Banet, 83 of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Mary was a long-time member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs. Her friends and neighbors enjoyed the beauty of her vibrant flower garden to which she so enjoyed tending.
She was born on June 28, 1931 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Leonidas and Lorena (Stumler) Hooe. She was also preceded in death by her brother, William Hooe, and sister, Clara Lee Carrol.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ray Banet; brother, Leonidas Hooe (Linda); sisters, Mildred Seewer (Alfred); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will take place from 1 to 8 PM on Wednesday and after 11 AM on Thursday at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 PM Thursday in the chapel at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (5719 St. Mary's Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic School (3033 Martin Road, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119).
