Mary Rita(Mccauley) Goss

Mary "Rita" (McCauley) Goss, 85, of Lanesville, Indiana passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, November 11, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was a longtime and active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lanesville where she was involved in St. Ann's and the quilters. She often attended mass at Mount St. Francis and always looked forward to having lunch with the girls.

She was born on August 14, 1930 in Dant Station, Kentucky to the late Francis and Mary (Blanton) McCauley. Rita was also preceded in death by her siblings, Rev. Charles Borgia McCauley, Joseph McCauley, Caroline Baumert, Regina Arnet, and Thomas Gerald McCauley.

Rita is survived by her husband of 56 years, Norman J. Goss, Sr.; children, Joe Goss, Jr. (Sheila), Ann Scrogham, Becky Shoemaker (Roger), Lisa Worden (Paul), Frank Goss (Dawn); sisters, Mary Renig, Grace McClure, Patricia Watkins (Nolan), Emily McCauley; grandchildren, Jennifer Corum (James), Brian Shoemaker, Eric Shoemaker, Abigail Scrogham, Michael Worden, Anthony Worden, Emma Goss, and C.J. Goss.

Visitation will be from 12 PM to 8 PM Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln., New Albany) and after 9 AM on Monday. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church (2500 St. Mary's Drive NE, Lanesville) with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
