Mary Agnes (Ott) O'Rourke

Mary Agnes (Ott) O'Rourke, 69, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022. Mary was a gifted painter and loved writing poetry. Mary's heart for animals led her to volunteer at shelters when possible. She enjoyed fishing, doing yard work, and playing volleyball.

She was born on June 18, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Louis Ott and Margaret (Whalen) Ott. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Allen Mayes; brother-in-law, Charles O'Rourke; and nephew, Louie Mayes.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Michael O'Rourke; children, Susan and Charles Johnson and their daughter, Ivy; sister, Carol (Ott) Mayes; sister-in-law, Debra Wolff; brother-in-law, Brian (Pattie) O'Rourke; sister-in-law, Mary O'Rourke; nephews, Larry (Barbara) Mayes, Shawn (Christina) Mayes, Timothy Wolff, Brandon Wolff, Joel Wolff, and Patrick O'Rourke; niece, Brianna O'Rourke; great-nephew, Carter Mayes; great-niece, Lauren Mayes; and lifetime friends, Brenda McCormick and Susan Ehrhart.

Cremation was chosen following Mary's wishes, and no services will be held at this time. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) was entrusted with her care.
