Mary Denise "Nene" (Barton) Mccormick

Mary Denise "Nene" (Barton) McCormick, 68, of Georgetown, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. She was an active member of the Salvation Army and was known for her love of the color red and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. Nene enjoyed taking trips to the beach, jewelry that sparkled, and hosting gatherings for holidays and special occasions. She always looked forward to visiting with her "First Friday" group, as well as getting together each month with her Bunco girls and taking advantage of any opportunity she got to spend with her grandchildren.

She was born on June 27, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky. Nene was preceded in death by her siblings, Linda Roberts and Gary Barton; and parents-in-law, Connie and Billie McCormick.

Nene is survived by her husband, Phil "Bubba" McCormick; children, Brandy Gibson (Tim), Stacey Reed (Jason), and Andy McCormick, Jr. (Jenny); grandchildren, Katie Jackson, Ava Reed, Mia Reed, Layla McCormick, Keaton McCormick, Abbi Maraman, and Parker Maraman; siblings, Suzanne Butler and David Barton (Karen); brother-in-law, Ray Roberts; sister-in-law, Connie Jean Schlieker (Dan); many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, JoJo.

Cremation was chosen following Nene's wishes, and a reception of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Salvation Army (2300 Green Valley Road, New Albany, IN 47150) with a memorial service taking place at 11:00 a.m. In honor of Nene, the family has requested that everyone please wear something red.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Nene's memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
