Mary Ellen Mathis, age 73 of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014. She was preceded in death by her father, Elbert (Poppy) Ingram and sister, Verna Mobley.
Mary Ellen is survived by her loving husband of over 50 years, Tommy; children, Jerry Scruggs (Allison), Kathy Williams (Jason), Jimmy Scruggs and Cindy King (Dennis); grandchildren, Chris Marshall, Jeremy Scruggs, Becky Bruce, Sarah King, Nick Scruggs, Stephanie Scruggs, Jake King; great-grandchildren, Trinity and Emily; her mother, Josephine Ingram; sister, Joanne Thornsberry (Jim); and brothers, Bill Ingram, Donnie Ingram, Charles Ingram (Virginia) and Russell Ingram.
Funeral ceremony will be 11am Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with entombment to follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8pm Friday and after 9:30am Saturday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
