Mary Marie (Castle) Taylor, 86, of Jeffersonville passed away on Tuesday morning, August 16, 2011.
Marie was born on August 30, 1924 in Knox County, Kentucky to the late Starling Hermon and Lillie (Creasy) Castle. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Colvin and Cecil Taylor; son, Clarence "Eddie" Colvin, II and sister, Geneva Inman.
She is survived by her son, Larry J. Messmer and his wife, Becky, of Box Elder, South Dakota; step-sons, Wayne and Tony Taylor, both of Louisville, Kentucky; brothers, Herman Castle and his wife, Axie, of New Albany, Indiana and Samuel Castle of Barbourville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Troy Colvin and Eddie Colvin III, Melissa Akau, and Larry Messmer, Jr.; and nine great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Theresa Niccum for her love and care of Marie.
Cremation was chosen following Marie's wishes and Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will take place at 1 PM on Friday, August 19, 2011 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Utica, Indiana.
