Mary Lee (Sprigler) Mahan, was born on February 26, 1943, in New Albany, Indiana, and peacefully departed this life on December 21, 2024. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and companion.
Mary Lee cherished her role as a mother to her beloved daughters, Laura (Brent) Williamson and Krista (Ronnie) Chester. Her passion for family extended to her grandchildren, whom she adored dearly. The love she had for her family was palpable and evident in all aspects of her life. She took great joy in the moments spent with them, especially relishing time with her grandchildren, Sarah (Bill) Overbay, Taylor Wilson (Nicky), Shane Williamson, and Keira Chester. Her legacy is further enriched by her great-granddaughter, Cadence Mullen, who brought her immense joy.
Mary Lee had a passion for shopping, particularly for jewelry. Beyond her love for shopping, Mary Lee greatly enjoyed traveling, movies, and dining with friends.
She is also survived by her sister, Suzann Hollkamp; and her companion of Mark Davis, who brought additional joy and support in her later years.
Mary Lee was predeceased by her husband, James Donald "Donnie" Mahan; and her parents, Wilfred "Snick" Sprigler and Dorothy (Libs) Sprigler.
A Memorial Gathering will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Cremation was chosen following Mary Lee's wishes and a private burial at St. Joe Hill Catholic Cemetery will be held at a later date.
The family requests that contributions in Mary’s memory be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities (702 E Market St, New Albany, IN 47150).
