Mary Louise (Schmitt) Kelty, 100, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Mary Louise was born on February 9, 1913 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William B. & Christine (Zeller) Schmitt. Mary Louise was united in marriage to George Edward Kelty on October 16, 1937. She was a long time member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and later, Holy Family Catholic Church both in New Albany, Indiana. Grounded in faith and family, she walked through life filled with song, love, and laughter, all of which she shared generously.
She is survived by her son, Joseph A. Kelty (Barbara) of The Villages, FL; daughter, Barbara M. Kelty of Louisville, KY; daughter-in-law, Sheila Kelty; 5 grandchildren, Kevin, Timothy, Anthony (Tiffanny), Kristi , & Brent Kelty (Ashley); and 2 great-grandchildren, Jude & Dane. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George E. Kelty; son, Patrick L. Kelty; sister, Anna Rose Schneider.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home with burial to follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Indiana (624 E Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150), Holy Family Catholic Church (129 W Daisy Lane, New Albany, IN) or the Alzheimer's Association (6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205).
