Mary Lee (Swan) Bruce , 73, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, playing card games, and crocheting. Mary was also known as the "Raider Nation" grandma. She supported her grandkids in sports and everything they were involved in.
Mary was born on September 8, 1939 in Vincennes, Indiana to the late Woodrow Swan and Martha (Mincey) Swan Daugherty (Ed). She was also preceded in death by her husband, Buck Bruce; and sisters, Tina Stewart and Sharon Swan.
She is survived by her children, Kent Jahn (Blanca), Laura Ritter (Robert), Jennifer Jahn (Dwayne Burns); siblings, Larry Swan (Ally), Judy Liles; grandchildren, Josiah, Nephi, Lehi, Abigail, Misty, Emily, Jennifer, Amanda, Maria, Darrin, Carl, Derek, Devin, Kevin "the Griffin Boys;" great-grandchildren, Brayden, Izayah, Calvin, Izzy, Lilly, Wesley, Charliegh, Nora, Alayha, and another on the way. She will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 11 AM to 2 PM at Parkway Southern Baptist Church (2508 Corydon Pike, New Albany) with a Memorial Service to follow at 2 PM.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the New Albany High School Football Athletic Department (1020 Vincennes Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
