Mary Kay Phillips, a cherished soul whose warmth and humor brightened the lives of everyone she encountered, departed from this world on January 26, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on June 3, 1951, Mary lived a life steeped in giving, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and faith.
She was a remarkable cook, known for her culinary skills that brought family and friends together around the dining table. Among her many delightful memories, she especially enjoyed cooking and sharing moments at church with her beloved companion, Tom. Kay’s spirit was as lively as her personality; she was both funny and sassy, infusing every gathering with her infectious joy.
Her fondness for life extended beyond her kitchen, as she took pleasure in watching her favorite television show, "Gunsmoke," reminiscing about simpler times filled with adventure and camaraderie. Her love of companionship extended to her adorable Boston Terrier, Little Bud. Every day, Kay took Little Bud to McDonald's, indulging him with chicken nuggets, a testament to the level of affection she poured into every relationship.
A woman of generosity, Kay made it her mission to give freely to those in need, offering her time and resources to help anyone who crossed her path. It is perhaps this most admirable trait, along with her authentic laughter and unwavering spirit, that will be missed most dearly by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Phillips; father, Ray Fulton; brother, Charles Fulton and fiancée, Joe Leonard Hatfield.
Kay leaves to cherish her memories her son, Robbie Baker; grandchildren, Taylor Ray Baker, Trenton Lee Evans, Kayla Marie Baker, Chynne Monet Roselle and Paige Roselle; 2 great-granddaughters, mother, Frances Marie Fulton; siblings, Johnny (Patti) Fulton, Barbara Stallard, David (Deb) Fulton, Tammy Buck, Lisa Buck, Anita, Pam and Brenda McKnight; lifelong friend, Jackie Roselle and numerous, nieces and nephews.
Kay's life is to be honored with a series of services. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on February 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky. This will be followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM, concluding with a graveside service at 3:30 PM at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, 3328 Spurrier Road, Big Clifty, Kentucky, where she will be laid to rest.
Though Mary Kay Phillips has left our earthly realm, her legacy of kindness, laughter, and love shall continue to thrive in the hearts of all who were touched by her radiant spirit.
