Mary Jo Mcclure

August 1, 1935 — May 14, 2024

Mary Jo McClure was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on August 1, 1935 to the late Adam and Velma Ingram. She was the oldest of 3 sisters and one brother, whom she would say was the pride and joy of her life. She married Earl Loyde McClure in 1951. They were married almost 50 years until he passed in 2000.

Mary Jo is survived by three children, daughter, Earlene Duchscher; sons, Bobby Joe McClure and Danny McClure (Deanna); 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

If you asked her about her occupation, she would proudly tell you she retired from Modesto Irrigation District as Executive Secretary for not one, but two executives. She retired at 55 and they moved to Oklahoma to enjoy their grandchildren. She enjoyed her home, loved gardening, canning, baking, crocheting, and reading.

She is Gone

You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, Be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what she would want:
Smile, open your eyes, love and go on
